The Simple truths

When I read these words for the very first time, the truth of it struck me hard.Time and again I would discover some powerful but simple notion that made living easier, some rule in the guidebook of Life that someone had forgotten to mention. Sometimes while reading or reflecting upon some experience that I wasn’t able to make sense of;a profound epiphany in the form of a simple mantra would come to me.I would marvel how this tenet of wisdom could have made my life easier-be it during the tumult of adolescence, the wistful romanticism of early adulthood or the existential crises of early thirties.I would try to remember what I had discovered and share this bit of knowledge with the small world I lived in.

And then as life went on,weeks and months would pass and the truth I had once unearthed would be forgotten-a long lost treasure. The times I had been smart enough to jot down these findings of mine in a pretty journal, those truths could come back to me when I would pick up these old mirrors hoping to travel back in time.I would read and re-read these thoughts, sometimes vague and at times deep.

And then I would remember again.

The people who remember things best aren’t the ones with an eidetic memory. It is only by revising something over and over and over that you remember.Even when it comes to remembering the fundamental principles to live by,most of us have the memory of a goldfish.

We forget.

This blog is meant to help you and me remember.
